Who We Are at Southwestern Human Services

“Our Mission and Commitment to our Community.”

Southwestern Human Services is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

Since its founding in 1997, the organization has proudly served more than 100,000 individuals across Allegheny County and surrounding communities, delivering compassionate care and meaningful support to all we serve.

The mission of Southwestern Human Services is to enhance the quality of life for every individual. By offering a wide range of behavioral health and psychiatric programs throughout
the South Hills and neighboring communities, the organization empowers individuals and families with the resources, guidance, and support they need to overcome challenges and achieve lifelong success. Many individuals have avoided out of home placement due to this beneficial service program.

Comprehensive Care

Healing is never one-size-fits-all. We provide a full continuum of behavioral health services tailored to meet the unique needs of children, adults, and families, ensuring every individual receives the exact level of support required for lasting stability.

Community Roots

We believe true healing happens where life happens. By delivering vital psychiatric and behavioral interventions directly into homes, schools, and neighborhood settings, we break down traditional barriers to care and meet our clients exactly where they are.

Empowered Futures

Our ultimate goal is sustainable independence. We don't just manage immediate behavioral or mental health challenges; we actively equip individuals and families with the practical tools, coping strategies, and long-term resources needed to thrive on their own.
