Individual services are therapeutic interventions and supports designed to address identified needs, strengthen coping strategies, and support skill development that promotes positive behaviors. The goal of these services is to help stabilize, maintain, or maximize the functioning of a child, youth, or young adult within their home, school, and community settings.
The Behavior Consultant (BC) is responsible for assessing the needs of a child, youth, or young adult and developing an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) that outlines interventions to address identified needs. The assessment and ITP are developed through collaboration and discussions with important individuals involved in the client’s life.
BC services include coordinating and consulting with other service providers regarding behavior plans and interventions, as well as discussing recommended behavioral strategies with the child, youth, or young adult’s treatment team. The treatment team consists of individuals who are actively involved in the child, youth, or young adult’s care and treatment.
Behavior Consultant services may be provided in the home, school, and community settings where behavioral support is needed to help learn strategies and skills that support positive functioning and success.
The Mobile Therapist (MT) provides therapeutic services to a child, youth, or young adult and their family to address identified treatment goals. Services are delivered in the client’s natural environment such as their home, school, or community setting.
MT responsibilities include conducting assessments to determine the client’s needs and developing an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) that outlines the interventions to address those needs. Both the assessment and the ITP are developed through collaboration and
discussions with key individuals in the client’s life.
MT services may also support the child, youth, or young adult in processing emotional difficulties, trauma, and other behavioral challenges while helping them develop healthier coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
The Behavior Health Technician (BHT) provides one-on-one therapeutic support to a child or adolescent in areas of social, behavioral, and emotional concern. These needs are identified by the child or youth and their family and are addressed through goals outlined in the Individualized
Treatment Plan (ITP).
The BHT works directly with the child to support skill development, promote positive behaviors, and encourage healthy social and emotional functioning. The BHT helps parents, family members, educators, and other supportive individuals develop strategies and skills to effectively
support the child. This approach helps ensure that appropriate supports remain in place as services are gradually reduced and eventually terminated.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services involve reviewing and understanding a child, youth, or young adult’s behavior within their environment. ABA focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating environmental strategies that use behavioral programs to improve meaningful behaviors or maintain previously learned skills.
ABA is used to help develop important skills which include the behavioral, social, communication, and adaptive functioning through evidence-based strategies such as reinforcement, prompting, task analysis, and other appropriate interventions. These strategies support the client in learning and mastering the steps needed to achieve targeted behaviors and Skills.
ABA services are available to children and youth with a variety of behavioral health diagnoses and are no longer limited to individuals with a diagnosis of autism. ABA services may include the following:
Behavior Analytic (BA) or Behavior Consultation-ABA (BC-ABA) services include assessing the needs of a child, youth, or young adult and developing an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) that outlines the interventions to address those needs. The assessment and ITP are developed through discussions with key individuals involved in the client’s life.
These services involve overseeing other services provided to the child, youth, or young adult and consulting with the treatment team. BA and BC-ABA services may be provided in the home, school, or other settings where ABA support is needed to help the individual succeed.

The BHT works directly with the child to support skill development, promote positive behaviors, and encourage healthy social and emotional functioning. The BHT helps parents, family members, educators, and other supportive individuals develop strategies and use ABA interventions to effectively support the child. This approach helps ensure that appropriate supports remain in place as services are gradually reduced and eventually terminated.
